I married a Western High School '68 grad and, including "going steady"
time, was with her for 29 years, until our divorce. A few years
later I married Denna, whom I met while living in San Antonio. I joined
the National Guard during the Vietnam era.
I
have three kids, my youngest son, Kurban, by Denna, is 16. My
other two, a son, Junab II, (he is the owner of Mobius Partners
Enterprise
Solutions), and a daughter, Salene, a respiratory therapist, still live
in San Antonio.
I retired from being an Air Traffic Controller. Yes,I was one of PATCO
strikers in 1981 and was fired, but returned 19 years later to the
Miami area. My wife is a physician at Laser Spine Institute and works
there as an anesthesiologist. We enjoy sailing, "Sleeper",
our 41 foot ketch, up and down the West coast of Florida, (see photo
link above). We
live on Tampa Bay in St Petersburg, Florida.
I am on Facebook. I had breakfast with Dave Sahagian and another WHS grad during my last visit to Detroit.
Cheers,
Junab
Some Things I Remember:
I remember working out with Laura Frost so hard that I threw up
once. I don't recall exactly when I swam for Patton, but it must
have been during 1961 - 1965 time period. Actually, one of the other
team members reminded me I was on the team. I had forgotten.
Team pics - I was sick the day the team photo was taken and I missed
out and I still regret this. (Editor's Note: Well, Ali, now your
pictures is here with the team as it should have been all those years
ago!)
Reflections:
Brrrrrr-ennan - All I remember is how terribly cold
the water was there! My ears used to ache. (Editor's Note: That's funny because frostbite is painless . . .)
