The season is well under way for the Patton Swim
Team. They journeyed
to both Akron, Ohio and Pontiac, Michigan last Friday and
Saturday.
In the Akron Senior Men's and Women's Swimming and
Diving Championships,
Rick Skarbo of Patton won the 200 yard Backstroke in a splendid
2:07.2.His
teammates, John Powser and George Saldana, also fared well taking both
the 200 yard Freestyle and the 1500 meter Freestyle with times of
1:57.9
and 19:16.7 respectively.
After returning from Akron Friday night , the boys,
along with the rest
of the

team, headed for Pontiac Northern high
school the very
next morning for the Pontiac Age Group Swimming Meet.
The Sea Hawks scored heavily in both individual and
relay events. Capturing
first place honors for the boys team were John Allred in the 50 yard
Backstroke,
Doug Webster in the 100 yard individual Medley and Pete Adams in the
100
yard Freestyle. Rick Skarbo, Dennis Manrique, Ron Boyd and Pete Adams
combined
to take the Medley Relay.
On the feminine side, Alice Ceresko, Carol Danboise,
Mary Shefsky and
Tina Solis combined to win the Girls Medley Relay.
