Pool Victories
CHAUTAUQUA, O. - Two Detroit girls Saturday won titles in
the Midwest
Invitational Open swimming championships here. Both represented Patton
Pool.
Joanne Scarborough, 15, swimming in the women's open event,
set an American
record for the 50-yard pool when she swam the 200-yard breaststroke in
2:47.5.
Mary Ceresko, 14, was a double winner. Miss Ceresko won the
100-yard
butterfly in 1:09.6 and the 200-yard freestyle in 2:20.7
