CODY WINS
5th MEET IN
SWIMMING

Three unbeaten swimming squads maintained their perfect dual meet records yesterday in the Public School League. Cody registered No. 5 on the West Side, Mumford and Denby both gaining No. 4 on the East.
Cody's balance and depth proved too much for Ford, 60-45. Mumford won 10 of 11 events in trouncing Pershing, 73-32, and despite two double winners for Osborn, Denby managed a 61-44 decision.
Gary Van Gorp won the individual medley in 2:26 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.9 for Denby. Osborn countered with Steve Burt (200 freestyle in 2:08.2 and 400 freestyle in 4:42.2) and Ted Wild (50 freestyle in 25.7 and 100 freestyle in 56.4).
Pat Ennis and Bill Allen sparked Redford's 71-34 drubbing of Mackenzie.  Ennis won both the 50 and 100 freestyles (25.5 and 57.8, respectively), Allen the butterfly (1:06.3) and breaststroke (1:12.8).
Although Cooley won only five of the 11 events, it slammed two of them for a decisive margin over Western, 58-47. The losers had a pair of double winners in Dave Sahagian (200 freestyle, 2:07.3, and butterfly, 1:05) and Mark Manrique (individual medley, 2:17.9, and 400 freestyle, 4:39).
