2 Swimmers Set
Age Group Marks
A pair of national AAU age-group swimming records, as well as two
state marks, were set last night in a meet between the Northwest Aquatic
Club and the Patton Pool Tigersharks.
Gary Gottschling, 12, of Patton, swam the 100-yard back stroke in
1:01.9 and the 50-yard backstroke in :28.4 seconds, both bettering the
existing records for 11-12 year old swimmers.
Tom Szuba, 10, also of Patton, swam the 100-yard backstroke in
1:14.0 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:40.0, both below the state
records in the 10-11-year- old grouping.
