Patton Girls Win
State Swim Title
Two records were broken Saturday as the Patton Tiger Sharks, of Detroit,
won the girls' team championship in the Michigan Junior Olympics swim meet
at Birmingham Seaholm High School.
Joanne Scarborough, of Patton, set a junior national AAU and state record
in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:12, breaking the old
record by eight seconds.
Carol Danboise, of Patton, set a state 14-and- under age group record
in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:15.1, breaking the old mark
of 2:15.7. The Patton team total 162 1/2 points, followed by North- west
Aquatic Club, of Garden City, 146, and Golden Lions Swim Club, of Detroit,
131. Boys and men's events will be held a Seaholm Sunday, starting at 1p.m.
