Just to give an idea of how swimming interest has boomed, it required
nearly eight hours to run off the 35 events, involving more than 1,500
entries, in the Women's City Club age-group meet at Warren Fitzgerald High
yester- day.
This was no dragged out affair. The events were run off with clock-like
efficiency by the Michigan Aquatic Association officials.
These age-group meets are a production line displaying physi- cal fitness
in operation. This was part of the nationwide program sponsored by President
Kennedy.
