School swimmer who represents Detroit's Patton Pool in summer events, will
be one of many teenage stars bidding for atten- tion in the National AAU
Outdoor Championships which began today at Chicago. One of the finest pros-
pects in Michigan, the Kimball sophomore smashed three U.S. age-group records
earlier this year. Among those in Chicago with Webster are Patton teammates
George Saldana and Rick Skarbo (both from Western High), Dick Gilbert
(formerly of Royal Oak Dondero), Monty Blashill (ex-Denby High) and John
Powser (Allen Park). National high school butterfly record holder Bill
Jennison of Cooley is there representing the Northwest Aquatic Club of
Detroit. |
