I had intended to write an introduction for this
first issue, explaining what the publication “wasn’t” and
thereby delineating what it “was.” After the elimination of
all the things it “wasn’t,” however, there was nothing
left--no purpose, no motive, no format. After due
consideration, it struck me that this was the easiest way
out. So here it is: “Foam-Fare,” the world’s first totally
useless publication, absolutely unreliable if slightly
informative.

Pattons’s number one son (sun) again
outwitted the speculators at the end of the season, this
time by not quitting. Hauck’s comprehensive program for the
winter, presented at the September meeting, is designed to
meet the increasing club membership and is accompanied by
long-needed financial reforms. Under the new system of
organization, Harry hopes to ration his coaching time more
economically. The system will divide the team into four
groups, each consistent in quality. A tentative schedule for workouts is as follows: MWF 5:00-5:30, Blue, Red and Gold teams; 5:30, Silver replaces Blue; 6:30, Red leaves. TTH no Blue team: 5:00, 1/2 Red and 1/2 Gold; 1/2 Silver and 1/2 Gold. SAT. 9:00-10:00, 1/2 Blue and 1/2 Gold; 10:00-11:00, 1/2Red and 1/2 Gold; 11:00-1:00, 1/2 Silver and 1/2 Gold. In order to stay informed on practice schedules and placing of swimmers it is imperative that you attend all ABC meetings. |
