After graduation in January 1959, I attended Florida State for 1 semester, then transferred to Michigan State (dropped out after 1 1/2 quarters), finally finished at U. of New Mexico. I returned to the Detroit area and took over Northwest Aquatic for Ron in 1964 and coached for about one year. Have been swimming masters since the first long course master's championship in 1971. Usually I get ranked in the top ten in the distance events.
