Graduated from St. Gabriel High School, went to Wayne State University. Was married in 1969. Pursued lifelong dream to learn how to horseback ride in 1970. Bought my first horse in 1971. Moved to Milford, MI, in 1972. Bought my second horse in 1973. Too cold to ride outside year round so I sought another activity for the winter. Took belly dance lessons. Danced with a dance troupe out of Ann Arbor for 4 years. Danced professionally and taught lessons. Stage name "Shafika". Had 2 daughters, Katie in 1977 and Stephanie in 1979. Was divorced in 1981. Had to sell my horses. Started working for Waste Management in 1982. Had a major car accident in 1982, rolled my car, broke my neck. Started riding horses again after recovery. My mom died in 1991. My daughters graduated from high school and are attending college. Katie is at Eastern Michigan University and Stephanie is at Michigan State University. Since there is time for me to play again, I again own horses (Morgans): Pepper, Chico, George and Absolut. I have also been involved with a great guy (Tom Iannucci) for the last 17 years. (5/98)

The fondest of memories always. But one that always seems to stand out is being at the pool with all the overhead lights out, just the underwater lights providing the light. The surreal blue and the sound of the guys harmonizing by the side of the pool.....it's such a peaceful memory!

Really taught me how to deal with anything that life throws at me. After voluntarily freezing ourselves to be the best and enjoying every minute of it....is there anything that we can't handle?
